We are driven by challenges and always expand our solution making process by simply complementing each other. Yin-Yang can be thought of as complementary forces interacting to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the parts. With Lidia’s analogical analysis and artistry, her friendly yet persistent nature, and Michal’s discovery of constraints, resolutions, and his honest approach with clients, the dynamic duo created Pionarch Design and Construction. Since the beginning they have served their clients by providing exceptional customer service, meaningful high quality, well designed and well executed projects. They both believe that having one team for design and construction simplifies the process and controls the outcome.
Pionarch Name
Lidia had created the Pionarch name before 2007. The name was adopted by her husband whom she married in 2007. Pionarch existed as a construction company until 2009 when she joined back in. Pionarch registered as an LLC in 2014 and since then it has grown in reputation and experience. Pionarch, LLC is now able to take both residential and commercial projects and is expanding in the commercial market sector year by year.

Meet Our Team
Lidia Szydlowska
Co-Owner/Founder – Principal, Lead Designer, Project Manager
Lidia has over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial architecture and interior design. She has an artistic vision, a desire for innovation, and expertise in creating beautiful, functional buildings reflecting the client’s life or work style. Throughout the years, she has focused on building relationships and high-quality standards and procedures to build Pionarch’s reputation and expertise.
Lidia received a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and a Master of Architecture Degree from Boston Architectural College. During her studies, she gained experience in various project types working for architectural firms in Boston and the North Shore.
Lidia’s passion and energy are passed on to her clients, employees, friends, and family members. Lidia has a positive attitude toward people, complex projects, and challenges. She approaches each project with enthusiasm and continuous effort.
Michal Szydlowski
Co-Owner/Founder – Licensed General Contractor
Michal has extensive experience in remodeling and constructing homes. His work involves practical reasoning and a focus on the details. His goal is to construct energy-efficient, long-lasting homes.
Michal is passionate about well-made, durable products, and he believes that craftsmanship and constructibility are the key to successful home construction. He uses the same subcontractors that he trusts, and he is loyal to vendors that can get the work done on time.
Michal has 22 years of experience in the industry. Pionarch was built on customer satisfaction and attention to detail, which he is proud to present to our clients.
Stewart Cartmell
Director of Architecture – AIA, Registered Architect, MA
Stewart possesses a wide range of architectural experience in renovation and new construction in commercial and residential projects. His experience includes public and private sector work for educational facilities, corporate office renovations, clinics, historic preservation, places of worship, multi-family and single-family homes.
Stewart is passionate about sustainable design, improving design quality, technical documentation, and workflow efficiency. He has led sustainability reviews, performed energy modeling, and supported office-wide QA/QC efforts. His undergraduate computer science degree has allowed him to create custom Python tools for Revit and strengthen BIM standards.
Stewart has a highly organized, detail-oriented approach to project handling. He is a team player and passionate about mentoring others.
Paul San Gemino
Quality Control Architect – Registered Architect, MA, CA
Paul’s experience is rooted in multifamily residential projects, including high-rise condominium towers, health care/lab/research facilities, hospitality, and non-clinical medical tenant improvements.
Throughout his career, he has worked with various experienced architects, developers, and general contractors. His focus is on emphasizing design development, construction documents, construction administration, building information technology (BIM) management, and standardization.
Paul’s passion is quality control and research.
Jacek Florczyk
Lead Carpenter
Jacek has a wealth of knowledge in wood construction. He has been working in construction since 1986. He specializes in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures within homes and other residential buildings.
From framing walls and installing doorways to laying hardwood floors and fitting kitchen cabinetry, Jacek undertakes a wide array of tasks designed to meet the aesthetic and functional needs of a home. Their expertise extends to work with wood, drywall, and metal—and the operation of an assortment of tools, both hand-held and power-driven.
Whether working on new builds, remodeling existing homes, or performing maintenance to preserve structural integrity, Jacek collaborates with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and interior designers. Jacek ensures that every project meets client specifications and adheres to regulatory standards, thus transforming blueprints into dream homes.
Christopher Jurkowski
Lead Carpenter
Chris possesses extensive experience in residential construction. He joined Pionarch in 2003 and has since contributed to many residential Pionarch projects.
Chris is respectful and kind. He is skilled in working in all aspects of construction, including framing, finished carpentry, painting, and tiling.
